Our Mission
Making sustainable living accessible and achievable for everyone, regardless of location, income, ability, or background.
Our Core Values
Universal Accessibility
We believe that sustainable living should be possible for everyone, regardless of physical ability, economic status, location, or background. We design all content and tools to be usable by the widest possible audience.
Cultural Respect
We honor diverse cultural approaches to sustainability and recognize that traditional ecological knowledge often contains sophisticated sustainable practices. We strive to elevate these traditions while making them accessible across cultures.
Practical Simplicity
We focus on actionable solutions rather than aspirational ideals. Our guidance is presented in clear, straightforward language and adaptable steps that can be implemented in real-world contexts.
Inclusive Innovation
We embrace both high-tech and low-tech solutions, recognizing that the most appropriate sustainable approach depends on context. We prioritize innovations that can be adapted across diverse situations.
Our Story
Sustainable Living Simple was founded in 2025 by a diverse team of sustainability experts, accessibility specialists, and community organizers who recognized a critical gap in existing environmental resources. While many excellent sustainability resources existed, they often assumed certain privileges: stable housing, disposable income, physical ability, technological access, or cultural contexts.
Our team set out to create a resource that could truly serve everyone, everywhere—one that acknowledges different living situations, abilities, cultural backgrounds, and economic realities while providing genuinely useful guidance for sustainability within those contexts.
"We envisioned a platform where a person with mobility limitations in an urban apartment could find relevant sustainability guidance alongside someone living in a rural village without reliable electricity—where budget constraints would never be a barrier to making positive changes."
— Sustainable Living Simple Founding Team
Today, our platform offers sustainability guidance across multiple languages, with content specifically designed for different global regions, dwelling types, income levels, and accessibility needs. We actively collaborate with communities worldwide to ensure our resources remain relevant, practical, and truly inclusive.
Our Approach
Context-Specific Guidance
We recognize that sustainability looks different based on where and how you live. Our content is structured to provide tailored guidance for specific circumstances rather than one-size-fits-all solutions.
Multiple Learning Pathways
People learn and implement knowledge differently. We provide content in multiple formats—text, visuals, audio, and interactive tools—to support diverse learning styles and access needs.
Community-Sourced Wisdom
Our content incorporates knowledge from communities worldwide, with credit to originators and cultural contexts. We actively seek input from diverse contributors to ensure authentic representation.
Iterative Improvement
We continuously refine our resources based on user feedback and emerging research. Our platform evolves to better serve the needs of our diverse global audience.
Our Vision for the Future
We envision a world where sustainable practices are accessible to everyone, where environmental action transcends barriers of geography, ability, and circumstance, and where diverse approaches to sustainability are celebrated.
